Township Board Meeting

A Township Board Meeting of the Charter Township of Garfield was held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Garfield Township Hall, 3848 Veterans Drive, Traverse City, Michigan. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and the Board transacted the following business:

1. Public Comment – Jan Freeman of Eagle Vale commented on the Copper Ridge major amendment
2. Approved the Agenda as presented
3. Approved February 11, 2025, Meeting Minutes as presented
4. Approved the Consent Calendar as presented
5. Approved scheduling Public Hearing on Copper Ridge PUD Major Amendment for the March 25, 2025 Township Board meeting
6. Received the County Commissioner’s Report from Fern Spence
7. Received the Joint Recreation Authority Report from Matt Cowall.  Karen Schmidt of Botanic Gardens gave an update and the Board discussed municipal water service at Historic Barns Park.
8. Received the Engineering/Construction Report from Jennifer Graham
9. Received the Township Manager’s Report from Chris Barsheff
10. Received the Supervisor’s Report from Joe McManus
11. Approved with minor edits the Traverse Connect Business Survey
12. Public Comment – Sue Murphy of Eagle Vale commented on the Copper Ridge major amendment
13. Other Business – None

The Meeting was adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
