Township Board Meeting

A Township Board Meeting of the Charter Township of Garfield was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Garfield Township Hall, 3848 Veterans Drive, Traverse City, Michigan. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and the Board transacted the following business:

1. Public Comment – None
2. Amended agenda by noting there will not be a verbal MMR report. Approved the amended agenda.
3. Approved January 28, 2025 meeting minutes as presented
4. Approved the Consent Calendar as presented
5. Received the County Commissioner’s Report from Lauren Flynn
6. Received the Sheriff’s Report from Lt. Roy Raska
7. Received the GT Metro Fire Report from Chief Paul Mackin
8. Received the MMR Report in writing
9. Received the Planning Dept. Monthly Report for February in writing
10. Received the Parks & Recreation Report in writing and an update on the dog sled from Trustee Schmuckal
11. Received the Treasurer’s Report in writing
12. Received the Clerk’s Report from Lanie McManus
13. Received the Township Manager’s Report from Chris Barsheff
14. Received the Supervisor’s Report from Joe McManus
15. Approved the purchase of eight Apple iPads and accessories for each member of the Board and the Township Manager for a total cost of $2,591.84.
16. The Board adopted the new Digital Device and Equipment policy.
17. The Board adopted the updates to the Employee Handbook covering earned sick time.
