Notice:  N. West Silver Lake Road - Sewer Main Installation

What:  Shoulder Closures - N. West Silver Lake Road, Garfield Township. Sewer main installation along the south side of the road between Green Meadow Drive and East Silver Lake Road requires a shoulder closure.

When:  Weather permitting, the work will begin Tuesday, April 9, 2024 and continue through April 26, 2024 from 7:00am to 7:00pm.  No Saturday or Sunday work is anticipated.

Why:  This is being done as part of the Garfield Township Capital Improvements Plan to expand the sewer system to make available to customers and improve water quality and service to the existing customers served by the Township.

Impact to Traffic:  Motorists will experience delays due to lane closure and should plan accordingly. Traffic will be directed by flaggers.

Traffic fines are doubled in work areas.  The Grand Traverse County Sheriff Office and the Michigan State Police have teamed up to provide patrol cars assigned to enforce traffic laws in work zones.  Motorists are asked to slow down and give our road workers a brake!

Township Board

A QUORUM OF THE TOWNSHIP BOARD MAY BE IN ATTENDANCE 

Notice is hereby given that a quorum of the Charter Township of Garfield Township Board may be present at a meeting to discuss the Township’s new community branding project to be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 4:30 pm in the Garfield Township Hall at 3848 Veterans Drive, Traverse City, MI   

No Township policy will be formulated by the members of the Board; nor will there be any discussion for the purpose of taking any action within the authority of the Board. The members of the Board will take no official vote or other action. 

The purpose of this notice is merely to inform the public that its elected members of the Board may attend meetings from time to time in which a quorum may be present.
