Synopsis of Minutes of June 23, 2015
Township Board Meeting
A Township Board Meeting of the Charter Township of Garfield was held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, beginning at 6:00 p.m., at the Garfield Township Hall, 3848 Veterans Drive, Traverse City, Michigan.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and the Board transacted the following business:
- Public Comment – None
- Approved Minutes from June 9, 2015, Township Board meeting.
- Approved the Agenda as presented.
- Approved the Consent Calendar as presented.
- Received the Construction Report from Jennifer Hodges of Gourdie-Fraser.
- Received GT Metro Fire Department report from Assistant Chief Terry Flynn.
- Received the County Commissioner’s Report from Alisa Kroupa regarding approval of the CPO contract, an outside independent financial analysis of the County’s assets and liabilities, and a meeting on Easling Pool.
- Received the Building Committee’s Report from Molly Agostinelli regarding possible future projects needed for the Township Hall.
- Received the Treasurer’s Report from Jeane Blood Law regarding the success of the Brush Pass program.
- Received Supervisor’s report regarding a meeting with DEQ regarding the NW Water project, an attempted mediation and various other meetings he attended.
- Held a Public Hearing and approved Resolution 2015-08-T(c), a Tentative Special Assessment Roll for Forestlane Subdivision Roads Special Assessment District.
- Adopted new FOIA Procedures and Guidelines.
- Adopted name of new private easement road, “Windy Acres Lane.”
- Received an update on the NW Water Storage Project, the bid from Elmer’s Excavating was accepted by the Board, and the water tower survey was presented to the Board.
- Approved Resolution 2015-09-T, a resolution to adopt the Annual Exemption Option as set forth in 2011 Public Act 152, the Publicly Funded Health Insurance Contribution Act.
- Accepted bid from Black Magic for striping and sealcoating of the Town Hall parking lot.
- Public Comment – Cindy Smith and Dale Popa commented on the unsatisfactory condition of their yards after the Zimmerman Rd. construction project.
- Other Business – None
The Meeting was adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
