1. Business to Come Before the Board
a. Request of the Road Commission for Lafranier Road Design Cost Share
Korn reviewed the Agreement to share Design Costs between the Grand Traverse County Road Commission and Charter Township of Garfield.
Schmuckal moved and Featherstone seconded the motion that the agreement with the Grand Traverse County Road Commission to share in the design/document cost up to $51,779.25 be approved.

Korn also reviewed the Agreement to share the LaFranier Road Construction Costs. He stated that Garfield would reimburse the Road Commission one third of the actual cost of construction for the project up to $370,000.00.
Featherstone moved and Blood Law seconded the motion to enter into an agreement on September 2, 2014 between the County of Grand Traverse, the Grand Traverse County Road Commission and the Charter Township of Garfield to share the construction costs on LaFranier Road for costs up to $370,000.00.

Korn explained that the Zimmerman Road agreement is the same agreement that the Board had approved previously, but the questionable language has been removed. He then discussed an agreement with Elmer’s Crane and Dozer for the Zimmerman Road water main extension to be done beginning September 8th and lasting for 30 days.
Agostinelli moved and Schmuckal seconded a motion to enter into a contract with Elmer’s Crane and Dozer for water main work on Zimmerman Road.

3. Other Business
Schmuckal expressed concern about residents of a house on Veterans Drive that are causing problems for their neighbors. Korn stated that he had just been at a meeting with members of the Stonehouse board and had been told that they are living as a family. He said that ideally it sounds like a good thing, but that if it causes concerns for our citizens, the township will have to look at it more carefully.
Agostinelli asked about future budget meetings and was told that there would be some study sessions set up.
Schmuckal said that the Personnel Committee needs to also meet to begin discussions on the employee contract.
Wilson added that she would like to see a report on the committed funds.
