Hunting, Fishing, and Trapping in Township Parks

Hunting is permitted on a first-come, first-served basis in accordance with all applicable State and Federal regulations in the following Township Parks:

  • Boardman Valley Nature Preserve
  • Miller Creek Nature Reserve
  • River East Recreation Area

Hunting is prohibited on all other Township Parks.  Fishing is permitted in Garfield Township Parkland in accordance with all applicable State and Federal regulations.  Trapping is prohibited on all Township Parkland.

 

Hunters must possess a permit issued by the Parks Administrator.  Permits are valid for 7 days beginning at sunrise on Saturday and ending at sunset on the following Friday.  There is no fee to obtain a hunting permit.  It is the responsibility of the permit holder to follow all Township regulations, as described in the Hunting Permit Application, and all rules and requirements of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
